Briefly, in the last article I had a simple word  – ‘Nothing of permanent good will come out of this Presidential Election . . . unless, our nation turns back to God.’ Because as I stated, “I believe judgement is coming to this nation. Maybe it is already here.  It is like God is saying you can choose which way it will come by who you vote for in this coming Presidential Election.” (See 2 Samuel 24.)

A WORD ABOUT JUDGMENT

When I speak about judgment I am not talking about the wrath of God being poured out, that is for an age to come. No, judgment in this present age has a purpose, which is to bring correction so that the hearts of people would turn back to God in repentance and humility. (See Hebrews 12:5-11 and 25-29.)  It often involves God lifting His hand of protection from us.

WHAT KIND OF A CHOICE DO WE HAVE?

A friend of mine wrote to me and summed it up in a very striking way – “Isn’t it strange that never before in all of US history have we had so many professed-to-be-born-again, evangelical Christians running for president – Tim Pawlenty, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum – but we’re ending up having to choose between a millionaire Mormon pragmatist on the one hand, and a quasi-Muslim/Black-Liberation-theology humanist on the other hand, instead.  Both “cultural Christians,” but neither one anywhere close to being ‘biblical’.”

A WORD FROM JAMES W. GOLL

Recently, James Goll shared an significant word about the elections. You need to read the whole article, but this is my summary. It involved a word from the Lord which came in a dream. “Liberalism will reign for a season in the land and then it will become popular for moderacy to rule, which could ultimately lead to true conservatism.” He also saw in the seer realm a baseball game in action. A young pitcher throwing a curve ball and another player squatting behind the plate with a huge catchers mitt. Also, the word, “When the nation is thrown a curve ball, I will have a man prepared who comes from the state of Michigan and he will have a big mitt capable of catching whatever comes his way.” At the time the word was given back in 2008, James Goll did not know Mitt Romney was born in Michigan.

VOTE BIBLICAL VALUES BY BILLY GRAHAM

Recently Billy Graham ran an ad in some major newspapers.  This is what he wrote –

‘The legacy we leave behind for our children, grandchildren and this great nation is crucial.  As I approach my 94th birthday, I realize this election could be my last.  I believe it is vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel.  I urge you to vote for those who protect the sanctity of life and support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman.  Vote for biblical values this November 6, and pray with me that America will remain one nation under God.’

THE GOOD NEWS

We should not give up. The nation can change. I always remember what Frank Houston a great Pentecostal leader in Australia and the father of Hillsong’s pastor Brian Houston used to say, “God always works with a minority.” The word of God reminds us that a dedicated band of people who may even be a remnant can change the course of history. Actually that’s how Christianity started 2,000 years ago.  There is hope. If this happens judgment can be averted.  Across this nation I sense that people have begun to earnestly pray in during these last 40 days leading up to Election Day – including the significant America for Jesus Rally that occurred recently in Philadelphia.

A CLOSING THOUGHT

It is not too late for the church to rise up again. It is not too late for an awakening to come to this nation again. It is not too late to seek the Lord.

We need to heed the call of Joel 2:12-13:

“Now therefore turn to me with all your heart with fasting,

with weepings, and with mourning.

So rend your heart and not your garments.

Return to the Lord your God.

For He is gracious and merciful.

Slow to anger and of great kindness.

And He relents from doing harm.”

P.S. HOW AM I GOING TO VOTE?

Without mentioning anyone by name, my intention is the same as Billy Graham – that it is “vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel.” I urge you to vote for those who protect the sanctity of life and support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman.
